If your dream team of friends is prepared to become an organising committee, these ideas could interest you!
If you want to host a night that won’t be forgotten in a hurry, why not a black tie gala ball? You can invite a large number of people, and ask local businesses or people you know to donate a venue, catering, or goods for a silent auction.
Organise and host a night of music, with all the funds going towards women’s cancers. You could even arrange a speaker to tell your audience about the importance of Cancer Council’s work in research, prevention and support.
3. SCHOOL SLEEPOVERS
For any students interested in hosting a Girls’ Night In, why not have a sleepover at school and invite speakers to talk about Cancer Council’s work, or ask local musicians or a band to perform?
4. ART EXHIBITION/AUCTION
Hold an art exhibition, showcasing the talents of local artists, and either sell the art pieces during the exhibition or hold an auction of the works with some – or all – of the profits being donated. You could also ask artists to donate a portrait or photography session to be raffled off.
There are many opportunities to fundraise at big events, whether through ticket sales, raffles, silent auctions, or corporate donations or sponsorship.
